Caitly Jenner was born William Bruce Jenner on October 28, 1949, in New York to Esther Ruth and William Hugh Jenner. As a child, Jenner struggled with Dyslexia which led to her failing the second grade, which led to low esteem. These esteem issues allowed the child find solace in sports.

Caitlyn Jenner has two sisters – Pam and Lisa. Burt, her younger brother, died in a car accident shortly after Jenner’s successful Olympic games.

For her freshman and sophomore years in High school, she attended Sleepy Hollow High School in Sleepy Hollow, New York but later transferred to Newtown High School in Newtown, Connecticut for her junior and senior years. Jenner graduated from Newton High School and joined the Graceland University in 1968. She started playing track and field and pursued a career in decathlon starting with Drake Relays in 1970 where he was placed fifth.

She participated in the US Olympics trial in 1972 and was placed third. She participated in the 1972 Olympics and was placed 10th. However, with strong dedication towards the game, she was ranked first in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, Canada and also made a world record run.
