Born on June 15, 1969 in LA, O’Shea Jackson developed an interest in rap and hip hop music while at high school and started writing raps in George Washington Preparatory High School. He formed the C.I.A., with his friend Sir Jinx while at Phoenix Institute of Technology and started performing in parties hosted by Dr. Dre. After Dre entered the recording industry as a member of World Class Wreckin’ Cru, he got Cube into the team and prodduced a hit track ‘Cabbage Patch’. He also started a side partnership called Stereo Crew with him.

Ice Cube and Dr. Dre collaborated in several music together with other artist like Easy-E and the trio recorded a song for N.W.A. and the Posse. The N.W.A group also included Mc Ren and DJ Yella. Ice Cube became a full-time member of the group and wrote rhymes for Dr. Dre and Easy-E. However, he was at odds with the group’s manager Jerry Heller and moved out of the team.

He then produced his fifth album ‘War & Peace Vol. 1 (The War Disc)’ in 1998 and the vol. 2 was released in 2000.
