Jimmy Fallon was born on 19 September, 1974 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Fallon went to St. Mary of the Snow elementary school and Saugerties High School. He went to college at The College of Saint Rose. Due to his experience as an altar boy, he wanted to be a priest, but comedy caught his attention when he started listening to ‘The Dr. Demento Show’ on the radio. His interest in comedy reached at its peak when he developed an obsession with a late night comedy program ‘Saturday Night Live’. He and his sister, used to reenact some parts of this show, recorded by their parents on a tape. He also had an interest in music and started playing guitar at an age of 13. He took part in many comedy competitions and would take up stand-up gigs during his studies.
To pursue the comedy career full time, Fallon dropped out of the college. He joined classes with an improve comedy troupe named the Groundlings. He wanted to join ‘Saturday Night Live’ and even auditioned for it in 1997, but failed. He auditioned again at the age of 23, and after a tough audition, he got selected for ‘Saturday Night Live’.
From 1998 to 2004, he appeared on Saturday Night Live and earned a lot of fame and recognition. Due to his talent and dedication to the show, he became a star by his fourth episode of SNL and after initial 3 seasons, he was offered additional 3 seasons from 2001 to 2004. In March 2009, Fallon show ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ premiered. His unique approach towards the show got the show famous and his show went on for 466 episodes from 2009 to 2014. On February 2014, Fallon debuted as the successor of Jay Leno, for NBC’s famous ‘The Tonight Show’. This show is still aired regularly and till now, 160 episodes have been aired.
Fallon also appeared in many movies, including ‘Jurassic World’, ’Get Hard’, ’Whip it’, ’Arthur and the Great Adventure’, ’The Year of Getting to Know Us’, ‘Taxi’, ‘The $cheme’, and ‘The Perfect Catch’.
