The grandson of three times World Champion, Mauro Bianchi, in GT category, Jules Bianchi was born in Nice, France and was managed by ART boss Nocolas Todt. Having started his career as a kart racer, Bianchi moved to the SG Formula winning five championship. He also participated in the Formula Renault Eurocup where he made a name for himself with one pole position and one fastest lap.
Jules Bianchi signed with AR Grand Prix to participate in the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2007 and won the Masters of Formula 3 in 2008. He drove for Formula Renault 3.5 Series at Monaco before moving to the GP2 series in 2010. Having entered Formula One as a test driver in 2011 at Scunderia Ferrari, Bianchi also carried out similar role for Force India a season later.
He finally made his debut in 2013 for Marussia and finished 15th in the opening race. Despite failing to score any points, he ended the season in 19th position before making his name at the Malaysian Grand Prix where he ended the season at 13th position. He then went on to score points, both for himself and Marussia in Formula One at the Monaco Grand Prix.
A year later in October 5, 2014, Bianchi lost control to crash his ride into a crane tending to the wrecked Sauber, in the Japanese Grand Prix. He suffered from a diffuse axonal injury and remained in coma until his death in July 17, 2015. He also became the first ever race car driver to have been killed due to injuries since Ayrton Senna’s death at 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
