Trudeau was born on 25 December, 1971 in Ottawa, Ontario. His father, Pierre Trudeau served as Canadian prime minister for almost 16 years and retired in 1984. Trudeau was 6 years old when his parents separated and at that time, his father was still the prime minister. Trudeau went to Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. In 2011, when party leader resigned, many speculated that Trudeau will step up as the next party leader. And he became the party leader in 2013 after winning the party leadership elections by a huge margin.
He is still the leader of the Liberal Party and ran the longest official campaign in over a century. His efforts were fruitful and on October 19, 2015 his party won the federal elections with majority. As the leader of new majority party, he will be the new Prime Minister of Canada.
