Lebanese-born Marcus Anthony Lemonis, better known as Marcus Lemonis, is an American investor, businessman, television personality and philanthropist with a net worth of $150 million.
Born on November 16, 1973 in Lebanon during the civil war, Marcus Lemonis was adopted by a Greek couple Leo and Sophia Lemonis who were living in Miami, United States. He grew up around automotive industries as his grandfather owned two of the biggest Chevrolet dealerships in the country while Lee Iacocca, a family friend mentored him later. After completing his bachelor’s degree in political science in 1995 from Marquette University, Lemonis wanted to join the House of Representatives despite making an unsuccessful run in Florida. After failing in the first instance in political run, Marcus Lemonis focused to have his career on the automotive industry and run the legacy of his grandfather.
After getting into sales and managerial roles in 1997 for AutoNation, Marcus Lemonis grabbed fame to become the CEO of Holiday RV Superstores Inc. from 2001 to 2003 after which he co-founded FreedomRoads which later merged with Camping World in 2006 and Good Sam Enterprises in 2011 with Lemonis retaining his position as the CEO of the company.
Lemonis furnished his business ventures to grab public attention after teaming up with NASCAR in 2004 by sponsoring John Andretti while also taking the company on paramount heights of top three sponsors in sports. He again renewed the sponsorship with NASCAR for his Camping World company to run the Truck Series until 2022.
