American former singer, songwriter and record producer, Montell Jordan has done so well for himself.

The singer and songwriter rose to fame in 1995 with the hit single “This is How We Do It”. Montell was the primary solo artist for Def Jam Recordings, which took him to the next level of fame and money. Jordan is not only a singer but he is also a songwriter and a producer who has written and produced for other singers as well. He has released six studio albums till date and currently serves as the worship leader at Victory World Church in Norcross, Georgia following his retirement from the mainstream music industry in 2010.

Early Life and Career

Montell Jordan was born on December 03, 1968, in Los Angeles, California, USA and was raised in the same city. Jordan was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California from where he graduated with a bachelor degree in communications in the year 1991. For a celebrity, he is kind of a non-attention-seeker and likes to keep himself far from show business.

He is also a devoted Christian or a born-again Christian who has managed to seclude himself from his mainstream musical career to become a Worship Minister at Victory World Church. Jordan has also been giving appearances in some NBA games with his musical performances which still ties him with mainstream music to some extent.

After his breakthrough hit single, “This is How We Do It” in 1995, Jordan went on to give a string of hit singles such as “Somethin’ 4 Da Honeyz”, “Let’s Ride” and many more. In 2003, Jordan left Def Jam recordings to sign with the record label Koch Records and released the album “Life After Def”. Jordan again switched to another record label named Fontana Records from where he released his next album, “Let It Rain”. Some of Montell’s many singles which found a place in the top 40 hits include the likes of “Let’s Ride” and “Get It on Tonite”. His last album “Let it Rain” was released in 2008. After all these successful ventures, he announced his retirement from the music industry in 2010.
