Having worked for Optical Express during his initial days of career, Clark is also a voice for animals. The hunky model has posed naked for several campaigns to speak against the fur industry. Starting his career in the entertainment industry as an extra in Love Actually, Clark has also appeared in Harry Potter movies.
Rylan Clark is no stranger to the spotlight which has been on him from an early stage in his life. As a part-time model, he went into the modeling industry when he was 16 and has been on ‘Take That’ and ‘Westlife’ tribute bands in Ibiza. He was a finalist in the 2011 competition signed by Katie Price, where he finished second behind Amy Willerton. In May 2012, Clark auditioned for the ninth series of The X Factor at The O2 Arena in London. He took on a dance version of Des’ree’s “Kissing You” in front of the judges – Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa and guest judge Rita Ora. While the judges were amused by his friendly banter and bubbly personality, the same cannot be said for his singing. Thus, Barlow gave Clark a “no”, but Ora, Tulisa, and Walsh all decided to say “yes”, putting him through to boot camp.
After several hurdles, Clark was eventually put through into the boys’ category with Nicole Scherzinger as his mentor. He finally made it to the live shows as one of Scherzinger’s final three, along with James Arthur and Jahméne Douglas.
