Is Tyler The Creator Gay?

Tyler The Creator

There have been rumors and speculations surrounding his sexual orientation. But Tyler who has been accused of homophobia in the past due to his lyrics (though he has supported the LGBT community, previously releasing a Pride series of his GOLF clothing line), shocked the media and fans when the lyrics of two tracks; Foreword, I ain’t got time and Garden Shed  from his album Flower Boy seemed to suggest that he was indirectly coming out as gay. Interestingly, this was the first time Tyler seemed to be making such suggestions.

Sometime in April 2015 to be precise, he tweeted; I TRIED TO COME OUT THE DAMN CLOSET LIKE FOUR DAYS AGO AND NO ONE CARED HAHAHHAHAHA.

In 2016, in response to Kendall Jenner’s tweet: Apparently, we’re dating, he replied, NOT POSSIBLE, WE’RE BOTH GAY.

In the summer of the same year while on a tour in Europe, he posted a drawing in which a rainbow-colored man peeps out of a closet with a speech bubble saying: IS IT SAFE?

The speculations were further fueled when he in an interview made mention of having a boyfriend when he was 15 years old. However, he later tweeted that it was a figure of speech.

Well, we are not sure if these are his ways of setting the stage to come out of the closet or just an avenue to sell his album and be in the news, whatever, it is, we just have to wait and see.

Tyler The Creator’s Quotes

Although Tyler claims he has lots of anti-religious lyrics in some of his songs, he has said he does not worship the devil but simply hates religion. Some of his quotes suggest he’s an agnostic. Here are some of his notable worlds:

“I’m going harder than coming out the closet to conservative Christian fathers.”

“The devil doesn’t wear Prada/I’m clearly in a white tee”

“Losers can never win me. You can never offend me. My goal in life is a Grammy; hopefully, momma will attend the ceremony with all my homies.”

“I was taught to act my shoe size, never my age. I always judge a book by the cover, never the page. I never judge a murder by weapons, only the rage.’

“You have highlights about your life; I have life about my highlights. Go to college, get a job, marry, have a kid, watch them grow and then you die? No, nigga, fuck the system!”

“I like my girls skinny with brains. I like my hoodies fucked with Lame. I like my friends imaginary with no names. And I make music for the fuck of it, no fame.”
