Stephen Rannazzisi is an American actor and comedian, best known for his role in comedy TV series The League. He has an estimated net worth of $2 million.
Stephen Rannazzisi was born in Smithtown, New York on July 4th, 1978. He grew up in Long Island, New York and attended Smithtown Highschool, and went on to study communications at State University of New York at Oneonta.
Rannazzisi is known for his claim of working for Merrill Lynch, on the 54th floor of the World Trade Center towers during the 2001 September 11 attacks. He described the events as a near-death experience, which supposedly inspired him to move to LA and enter the entertainment industry. In September 2015, Rannazzisi admitted his story wasn’t true after being debunked by a reporter from The New York Times.
I was in Manhattan but working in a building in midtown and I was not at the Trade Center on that day. I don’t know why I said this. This was inexcusable. I am truly, truly sorry. For many years, more than anything, I have wished that, with silence, I could somehow erase a story told by an immature young man. It only made me more ashamed. How could I tell my children to be honest when I hadn’t come clean about this? It was profoundly disrespectful to those who perished and those who lost loved ones. The stupidity and guilt I have felt for many years has not abated. It was an early taste of having a public persona, and I made a terrible mistake.
Rannazzisi is known for his roles in a number of films and TV shows, most notably of which is The League, where he plays fantasy football league player Kevin MacArthur. His net worth, most of which comes from his acting career, is estimated to be about $2 million.
